I am glad that his numbers went up enough for things to get started, Vicki!

It was great that his appetite was improved, hopefully the first of many good meals to build him up before the SCT.

Sending you both my best wishes for an uneventful weekend.

We havent got to the steamfair for a few years, and left it too late to hire the "all terrain" mobility scooters onsite for this year, otherwise I would have threatened to call in and say Hello, Tina!

I hope you have a good few days (fingers crossed for not too much rain) and are able to return refreshed and fighting fit for your procedure in September.

Like the others I am hoping that no news is good news, Dai, and that you are either snugly tucked up in bed, with the nursing staff sorting out your latest infection or back home recuperating..

I've only just logged on after a few days absence and am sorry to read about this latest developement, David!

What a good thing you discovered a forum where you can get some good advice about the new cancer. Though sometimes the interweb gives us too much incorrect or outdated info, it is a blessing when it allows us to contact others with similar problems.

Sending you my best wishes for a successful treatment.

Mavis. we had a hoist fitted into our Berlingo and now our current Kangoo, and it is very easy to get my mobility scooter out and in even when on my own.

Ours is a pretty basic hoist, where the controls only move it up and down and we have to manually move the arm out and into the back of the car. But when I was lookin on ebay it was the only one in our budget – we paid £270 and had to drive about 50 miles there and back to collect it.

We had our local garage fit it into the car and then got an auto electrician to do the wiring. About £100 extra I think.

The only other cost was about £30 to have a bracket fitted to the scooter so the hoist's clips could attach to it. This we had to go to a mobiliy centre for, as our garage had no clue as to what was needed.

    Hope this helps

    That is great news, Ali!!

Keeping my fingers crossed that those neutrophils continue to rise and your Mum gets her discharge papers as planned today.

Nothing like a good manicure and dazzling nail colour to perk a woman up!!

I hope you are having a great weekend away to gather strength for the coming news.

And welcome to the club nobody asked to join, Pat – just rant away any time you feel the need, it does us good to get it out there!!
