I hope everyone has survived Christmas Day unscathed and not looking and feeling like this poor fellow

I'm glad to see you managed to get home for your birthday, Dai!!

I got a few friends to sing this for you 😉

(You will need to insert your own name in the relevant place though!)

    Happy Birthday!

    Love from

    Well done, Emma!!

I tried to click on the link in the article to your just-giving page but got an error message.

I think this is the correct link (at least it looks like it must be!)

I am glad you finally have Ivan home, even if he does have frequent hospital trips for those necessary dialysis sessions, Cathy!

My taste buds took (I think) about a month before getting anything like back to normal, so hopfully it won't bee too long for Ivan's to recover and help him gain his appetite.

Maybe try to feed him up on savoury foods (will he eat curries?) and not worry about sweet ones for the moment. Losing one's sweet tooth could be seen as a blessing really, as those kind of foods are often not the most nutritious ones for any of us! 😉

As he will eat your home made soups maybe you can add some unflavoured/unsweetened protein powder to them, to help boost the nutrition for him?

Wishing him a speedy return to tasting!

    Hi Angelina!

Welcome to the club none of us asked to join. I was lucky in that mine was discovered after a few months of back pain when my GP saw some reason to get blood tests done and the care of my local hospital has been nothing but exemplary.

I hope things go smoothly for you from now on. Have you had the results of your BMB yet?

What a wonderful achievement, Sarah! Is there a report of how it went for them somewhere that we can read?

    Hi Vicki and Colin!

I've not been on here recently so missed the whole saga but am glad that Colin finally managed to produce over 2 million of those pesky litle cells!

Wishing you a good relaxing week while you are waiting for SCT day!

Tina, I have been missing from the forum for a month or so, and so did not see this thread till today.

I hope that all has gone well with your procedure.

I imagine you are now around day 11/12 after receiving your cells back and hopefully seeing those neutrophils starting to rise, so I hope you are not too far from getting a "release date".

It was such a shock to read your post today after having taken a "break" from this forum recently, Rachel.

Paul was such a positive and supportive poster and he will be missed by us all.

My heartfelt condolences to you and your family at this sad time.

Welcome to the family, Mika, and thank you for your positive post.

It is terrific to hear from someone who has lived with this pesky disease for so long and is so full of optimism

And your English was very clear and easy to understand too!!

Gosh, Cathy, Ivan really has gone through the wringer.

I hope his feeling like eating something (even if he didn't manage to eat it) is the start of things getting better for him.
