I haven’t volunteered for a BMB 😉 The last time I asked about a BMB I was rather given the impression that the hospital does not really believe in them and tends to stick to Blood measurements. We shall see what happens at the next consultation.

I am still struggling to find out how this forum actually works? I am replying to a post that I received but I cannot find it on the postings!

Anyway, Hi Carol, thanks for your post. I have been on this forum since Jul 2009 and you are the first Taunton person I have run into, I go to Musgrove. Yes, I was given advice to watch out for DVTs and I did take 75mg aspirin a day. That has stopped now that I am on Clexane injections in the Tum. I see the consultants once a month and I get signed off for another dose of 20 mg of Dex plus the 21 days of Revlimide. I normally have the Drip fed Bis-phosphate (cannot remember name at moment). However, I might have to have an extraction so they took me off that in Jan and -IF NECESSARY – the extraction will take place in March. However I now have the complication of Clexane to think about now!

    Nice to meet you.

Hy guys and gals, or are we all now just guys?

Had an exciting weekend spending many hours waiting in my local hospital. I have a DVT just above the right knee and am now on Clexane injections, indefinitely I am told by the Pharmacist ! They are now consulting the Hematology dept to find out if will affect my treatment with Revlimide. Anybody got any current experience of this?

Wow, France and Greece you are getting about. When we went to France last last August they wanted £700 for a week Insurance, that was with the relevant French E111(?) card.

    You have a great time.

Hi Maureen, I have tried with quotes from them all, but Myeloma with Prostate neither of which is in remission is a big no no for them.

Have a great stay at Gleneagles, I have never been there but when I watch the golf it looks a great place.

I have just booked the Rickett Suite at the Union Jack Club in Waterloo, it is their top suite I tried to get it last time but failed – there is a good reason for this I am just not being flash! We are going to visit London on the 4-6 March. My local MP has organised a personal tour of the Houses of Parliament for my wife and I with one of his researchers. Then we are off to see Westminster Abbey. No doubt a little bit of shopping and then home again. Last time we drove but this time we are going by train.

Best of Luck Tom. I got pulled off of Velcade after 3 Doses, PN big time. I am now on Rev/Dex which seems to be working well although I must admit to getting really peed off with the Dex!

    Anyway – onwards and upwards.

Every time I go to see a Consultant I get a copy of letter he/she then send to my Doctor. This I find jogs my memory of what has been said and generally explains a lot more. It would certainly give a reason for stopping a form of treatment, do you not get this? The list of questions to ask is absolutely essential and very good advice, some people even take small recorders I understand.

I went onto Velcade for my second line treatment, but only had three cycles I had serious PN in my legs. I am now on third line Revlimide and Dex, diagnosed in 2009

Coughs seem to be the in thing at the moment!

I have the tickle cough as well but it is unusual in that I can go all day without a problem only to start coughing as soon as I go to bed. I have just woken up, dex affect, at 3:30 am and I immediately started coughing. I have now been on my computer, which is now alive and well, and the cough is receding.

Glad they caught your pneumonia early, well done Doc.

Hi All, I have been off air for awhile, computer went belly up! I had to reinstall windows 7. Not finished yet I am working through the various programmes some of which are real trouble.

Any way I thought I would reinstate the Myeloma site and at the same time to take the opportunity to wish you all a very Happy Christmas and a prosperous and HEALTHY New Year.

Best of luck to you all.

    My kindest regards – Vasbyt
