Hi Susie
Thanks for the feedback and sorry to hear you’re having a few issues. Would you be able to do me a favour and let me know what you are using to view the website? Are you on an iPad or a laptop/PC and which web browser you are using (Internet Explorer, Chrome, Safari etc). This will really help me get to the bottom of the issue.
Regards
Stuart
Hi Megan
I’m more than happy for you to email me whenever you run into any issues with the website. I try to keep an eye on the spam filter but some days are busier than others so an email never hurts.
Stuart
Hi Megan
Your reply to Greg had been marked as spam. I’ve marked it as safe and it’s now appearing on the forum. The new spam system learns what is and what isn’t spam over time, so we should see fewer and fewer mistakes happening. I think it would be a sensible idea to have a message telling someone if their post has been reported as spam so they know what’s happening. I’m looking into this.
I’m glad to hear the iPad is running a bit quicker. I am still looking at further speed improvements but I’m taking them slowly as they need proper testing, I really don’t want to do something that will break the site.
Thanks for reporting your problem
Stuart
Hi Liz, Andy, Megan and Carol.
I’ve made a few tweeks to the way we serve up the website content. Can you tell me if this has made any difference to the speed issues you are experiencing? I suspect there is more we can do but I thought I’d try the quick easy fixes first to see if they helped.

Stuart
Hi Liz. Thanks for the info and sorry you are also having troubles. I’m trying to get hold of an iPad 2 to see if I can solve the problem. It’s rather tricky to fix unless I can replicate the problem here. There are a number of possibilities I’m looking at so please bear with me while I find a solution.

Stuart
Hi Carol
I’m really sorry to hear you’re having major problems and I can only apologise. I really want to get to the bottom of this. Can you please describe what happened when you posted the message. Did you receive any error messages or did it look like everything had worked but your message was simply truncated?
Can you also tell me what type of iPad you have? The more information I can get the better really as it’s difficult to work out what is happening without witnessing it first hand. I am going to try to borrow an iPad and see if I can recreate your problem.
Sorry about all this.
Regards
Stuart
Hi Carol
I’ve changed the default for the checkbox. Still investigating the slow iPad issue.

Hi Andy, Megan and Carol
Really sorry to hear you’ve been having these issues. I’m sure there will be a solution as this forum software is quite widely used and I can’t see the programmers neglecting the iPad market as it’s pretty large. Please bear with me while I investigate.
Carol – You are absolutely right, that is annoying. I have been looking into a solution and it looks like a fairly easy thing to fix. I will try this on our testing site and if all goes well add to this site very soon.
Thank you all for the feedback, it’s really important to us that we provide the best possible website, so it’s a huge help.
If you have any other problems or questions please reply to this thread or drop me an email.

Megan. I have now re-instated the blurb on the profile. If you click on someone’s avatar and then on the profile tab you will see what they have written about themselves. You can edit your own description by clicking the Edit button. Hope this helps.

Hi Michele
Yes it is a bit of an odd title. It’s the default for the forum software. I don’ t think we need it at all to be honest. I’ll look into removing it.
Thanks
Stuart
Hi Megan
Thanks for the feedback. I will look into the blurbs and see why they haven’t been transferred across.

Hi Tom
I suspect these emails will be created by people in other countries so they are almost impossible to track on an individual basis. By the time we report them they will have created another fake email account and moved on. We need to tackle this problem by blocking messages with suspect content. We are working on a solution, it's just going to take a little time so please bear with us. The last thing we want to do is make the forum so hard to post spam on that it makes the whole experience frustrating for you guys. In the mean time Ellen and I will keep our eyes open and zap them as they happen.
Regards
Stuart
Hi Richard
I share your irritation with these 'people'. I've cleared all the spam off the forum which is why the front page may be looking a little bare. Whenever I delete a thread the forum doesn't automatically display the next available one. We are looking into a solution as this is becoming more frequent and needs to be stopped. In the meantime if you spot any spam please email me directly through webteam@myeloma.org.uk and I'll remove it asap.

Hi Jean
No nothing to do with the iPad. Entirely to do with my clumsy fingers! I've fixed the links now. 🙂
Cheers

Hi Folks
We have a page about Give As You Live on the site http://www.myeloma.org.uk/get-involved/fundraising/shop/give-as-you-live/. There is also a plugin for Internet Explorer / Chrome which automatically detect a website that is part of the scheme without you needing to search through the Give As You Live website. http://www.giveasyoulive.com/install/.
I hope this helps
