Hi all, please don’t take green tea, read the recent issue of the myeloma news. It has an article about green tea and turmeric.

Hi John, exactly the same, it’s not there permanently, it comes and goes, usually at its worst prior to a clinic, I put it down to nerves!

Hi Chris, sorry that you are here, but it’s the best place to be for encouragement and info, was 67 + when diagnosed, had no bone or kidney problems, went onto the myeloma XI trial, followed by a stem cell transplant. That was 22 moths ago, I am now completely drug free, have no treatment other than a three monthly infusion.
We live life to the full, go on holidays and do as much as we can, but as Rebecca said its still somewhere at the back of your mind. I guess the trick is to keep it at the back of the mind and keep going. you have a journey of mixed emotions coming your way but it’s all doable, just stay strong and positive.
Good luck and keep us up to date with how it’s going for you.

Best of luck cupcake, you can do it? It’s all very scary, really right from the moment you are told that you have myeloma, you just don’t know what to expect.
Parts of the SCT process are unpleasant, for me the worst part was living in isolation for three weeks, but you know it soon passes. I followed Karen into the transplant ward, now I am 21 months post SCT, i take no maintenance drugs, just one adcal a day and once every three months I have a calcium infusion. We’ve travelled abroad and try to live life to the full.
Enough of me, again wish you all the very best, you will soon be doing the housework!

I thought that vitamin d levels were checked at each blood test.
I take a daily Adcal that includes vitamin D, and every three months have a calcium infusion.

Sorry David, I knew we shouldn’t have hijacked the forum to talk about holidays.
Glad the the mm is still in remission and that the skin cancer is not bad, hope they sort out the prostate ASAP

    Andy
There’s a new pub opening in Keswick, in the Old Court House, sounds good!

Fiscardo, then on Saturday over to Ithaka for a week. Then it’s the blood test!
I read that you do the Lakes as well, we go up to Keswick a lot, having lived and worked there for 10 years or so.
    Sorry to hijack the forum.
But heck you’ve got to live life, maybe sometimes with your fingers crossed.

Haha, doing the same as you Andy. On a balcony overlooking the sea in kefalonia, another week of too much wine and good food, oh and sunshine. Then I’m back for a blood test! and probably a ticking off from the specialist.
    Good luck

Exactly the same Rebecca, my hair grew back very thick and ultra curly, I had a real mullet. Never had curly hair before, hated it but let it grow for a while, went to the barbers had it all cut short and the curls never returned. Gone back as it was.

Hi Frances, yes I’ve had eye probs though nothing quite as bad as yours. Mine started with really itchy eyes, had to rinse them couple times a day. Then following eye test at opticians was referred to eye clinic with glycoma, was given eye drops, that appears to have cleared the problem but have to report back in 6 months. This is all very recent and I have been off all drugs for 18 months since my stem cell transplant, so could be unrelated, however haematologist says eye probs are a side effect!
    Hope above helps
